A Solid but Flawed Successor to It Takes Two – Split Fiction is still a solid co-op follow-up to It Takes Two, but it stumbles a bit under the weight of its own ambition. The core premise of two writers trapped in an AI plagiarism engine is clever, but the corporate villains feel totally one-dimensional and cartoonish compared to the main characters. Hazelight’s habit of introducing a brilliant mechanic only to toss it aside 20 minutes later is also more frustrating this time around. Just as you get comfortable with a cool puzzle or combat style, the game yanks it away, and some late-game dual-stick shooting sequences create an unexpected difficulty spike that might frustrate a casual or non-gaming partner.
It still looks gorgeous on the PS5, seamlessly flipping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds without dropping a frame, and the returning Friend’s Pass means you at least only need to buy one copy. However, once you roll the credits on the 14-hour campaign, there is absolutely zero replay value. Without any alternate paths, meaningful collectibles, or reasons to revisit the chapters, it ends up feeling like a “one and done” weekend playthrough rather than a lasting masterpiece. It’s a gorgeous game with some incredibly creative moments, but the uneven pacing and total lack of replayability hold it back from greatness

Good Game – I really enjoyed playing this game on Xbox with my friend. So it was definitely worth getting it for ps as well. The concept of the game is really interesting, and being able to invite a friend through the friend pass is pretty awesome when your friend doesn’t have the game themselves. Overall, this game is really fun, especially with a friend. Definitely worth a try!
