Good follow up to Returnal – Faster than Returnal but much easier. I good jumping in point, the weapons feel great, but the game play loop isn’t as strong.

Mid-range – I usually hate games like this. Love improving my character, but every once in a while there are no more improvements and you just have to “get gud” to unlock more improvements and advance the story. Not for people who weren’t good at games like Returnal

Tough But Fair – This game takes the winning formula from Returnal and improves on it in every way. The game is fast, frenetic and a blast to play. It also gives you tools to help you actually progress further. Unlike Returnal, this game feels beatable. The graphics are amazing and the story is intriguing. If you were a fan of Returnal, this is a no-brainer.

Stellar action that falls a little flat – When this game is firing on all cylinders its amazing. The pace is decent but the story leaves alot to desire. Fans of the developers previous game Returnal will feel right at home, albeit for this games lack of difficulty at times. However difficulty can be customized by an in game risk/reward system called Carcosan modifiers. This game is relatively short about 10-15 hours. The game is mainly shortened because the rougelite nature of the game is downplayed because you can start at any level once you reach a checkpoint. I still recomend this game but milage will varry.

A beautiful game – SAROS is a type of gameplay that I don’t always do well at, but the voice acting and the narrative are excellent. The design of the world is beautiful. Even the enemies that take me out so very often.

Mixed Bag – Okay I was beyond excited for this game. I will say the action probably deserves 5/5 stars. However, it did seemed dumbed down and simplified compared to the previous title- which I found disappointing. I did not like the characters or story at all and it really put a damper on the whole experience. All in all I was disappointed with the game.

Excellent. – VERY fun. Maybe a bit biased as I tend to really like roguelites, but regardless, Saros is great. Very fun, punchy, fast-paced but fair combat, never felt too punishing or difficult just for the sake of being difficult, and looks and runs great to boot.
