  1. KyranB (verified owner) –

My favorite controller – I have nearly every controller in the high end and this one definitely is the most premium. I used multiple gamepad testers for polling rate and input and it checks out great. Sticks are smooth but i would like more resistance. Faceplate magnets are not crazy strong but i have had no issues with it coming off in long gaming sessions. I play alot of FPS games and it is exactly what i wanted. My wolverine controllers give it a run for its money but the ergonomics keep me from making the wolverine my absolute favorite.

  2. JV350 (verified owner) –

Not as expected – Face plate magnets came off and only being held from 2 magnets on the left side while the right side magnets came out. The right side rear triggers became unsalable. The triggers where not clicking any more as if they became stuck

  3. Logitech (verified owner) –

WiFi dongle has an issue – My unit also had an interference issue that kept opening Xbox Game Bar and desktop functions when right-clicking my mouse, which was very annoying.
I own 70+ controllers, and this is one of the few I returned immediately. It feels too thin and plasticky, and ASUS didn’t bring enough new features.
For the next version, add adjustable stick tension like Flydigi, an OLED display, a more premium shell, and a slightly thicker, heavier design. I own many ASUS products, but unfortunately this is one I can’t recommend.

  4. Franklin (verified owner) –

Returned immediately. – Cheap front plate, cheap magnets, interchangeable joysticks that nobody asked or wanted because regular tension joystick is good but the other is just a feature that I don’t even want to think about it… unique thing that is good that you can cover back buttons and becomes a useless feature… if the price were between $100-$120 but without a face plate and interchangeable joysticks will be perfect but now ASUS will waste more money because everyone is returning it, is not worth $220…

  5. Scraggletag (verified owner) –

Expensive and half-baked – Anyone paying for a $219.19 controller have expectations. From my perspective, people who will purchase this product is looking for something beyond a good controller which you can get for less than half of the asking price.
Everything that comes with it, you would think, has been tested and functioning properly out of the box. It is not the case for this one.
I have listed down the items that most (if not all) video reviews did not disclose or talk about.
    – Like previous product reviews you have read here, my controller battery max level is at 77%. it does not go beyond that. Whether they designed it that way to optimize battery life by not charging to 100% is an assumption. I did not find any option to change it in ASUS Gear Link.
    – The charging dock is connected using USB C port in the back. The controller charges fine with it. Although, there is a USB A port in front which logically – you would think that you plug the dongle on there which saves you from using another USB port on your PC. That USB A port does not work. I even tried plugging in a USB A to C cable connected to the controller – it does not charge.
    – Calibrating the controller. Everything works except for the trigger buttons. When you attempt to calibrate LT, pressing the button does work so you cancel and go to calibrate RT. Pressing RT does not do anything either but oddly enough – pressing LT during RT calibration gets a response. It calibrates RT by pressing LT?!? At that time, the FW version available was v1.00.13. The FW version v1.00.17 fixed this.
    – Talk about FW v1.00.17. When it first released, Windows Defender was flagging it as a possible virus.

So you ask why not just return it? Well, I made the mistake of using Best Buy Certificates. As some of you will know, you only get the amount you paid for out of pocket when you return the item for this case.

I do hope this review helps.

  6. DWIGHTG (verified owner) –

Asus Software is buggy – I’ve bad several of the raikiri controllers and they are plagud with phantom movements or buttons just not working. The software seams to intefere with ricochet anti-cheat.

  7. Braden (verified owner) –

Good controller, bad quality control – I received the controller the other week. It so far has overall worked well, however one of the rear buttons is loose and seizes frequently. It’s a shame myself and so many others are experiencing these issues for how much we paid.

  8. John (verified owner) –

Horrible Build Quality Made Cheaply – Great features on paper, but it all falls apart once it’s in your hands. The faceplate is incredibly cheaply made, and it flexes with any kind of palm pressure on it from the left side.

The triggers and top bumpers have this rattly/springy feel to them that also feel very cheaply made.

ASUS must be out of their minds charging over $200 for this level of manufacturing and QC. The back buttons do not feel stable and will likely be a point of failure after a short amount of time.

This is the first controller I ever bought that never even got turned on. It got returned immediately due to the terrible quality control.

  9. Fredo (verified owner) –

Not as bad as many people say, BUT….. – Controller is good, I like the quality, idk what people are talking about the front face, but mine sticks well. However, I have to re-calibrate my left thumb stick every single day before I game, cause the software doesn’t remember the calibration settings. This needs to be fixed.

  10. JOSHG (verified owner) –

Great idea. Terrible design. – This controller looks great on paper but that’s it. It works great for the first couple of days and then the rear buttons would continuously show input after release. I brought this to Asus attention and they sent me a brand new replacement and within 3 days it did the same thing. Also, I was unable to get the 8k polling rate hardwired on both controllers. It did work 8k with the usb dongle. I ended up going back to my Wolverine 8k.

  11. MARLON (verified owner) –

It just work for me – I love this product since I can map buttons on the fly. It’s also using web app to configure the controller not needing to install anything in any of my computers. No joystick drift. Clickity click buttons. Have the option to use wireless or wired. 8000hz polling rate. Ergonomically deisgned so it does not make my hand and fingers hurt after a few hours of gaming.

  12. JoseG (verified owner) –

Awesome – I have had this controller for about a month and love everything about it. Zero issues and feels amazing. Huge upgrade from my envision pro and dualsense I was alternating between.

  13. CHADW (verified owner) –

Worst controller on the market – I have had two of these controllers for less than 30 days total and they have both been bad. The back buttons are horrible and will sink into the controller an become unresponsive. Best buys customer service won’t help you and you will get stuck with a 200 paper weight. Save yourself the head acha AND SO NOT BUY THIS CONTROLLER! This company has the worst customer service ever and will not do anything to make it right.

  14. COREYL (verified owner) –

Premium gaming controller – I absolutely love this ASUS ROG controller! One of the first things I noticed was how comfortable it feels in my hands. The ergonomics are excellent, and it feels natural to hold, even during longer gaming sessions.

The OLED display is another standout feature. It gives the controller a premium, high-tech appearance and adds a nice touch of customization. I also love the battery life! It’s great being able to enjoy extended gaming sessions without constantly worrying about recharging.

The controller feels well-built, responsive, and premium overall. ASUS really did a great job combining comfort, functionality, and design.

    Pros:

    * Excellent ergonomics and very comfortable grip.
    * Beautiful OLED display that adds a premium touch.
    * Impressive battery life for extended gaming sessions.
    * Responsive buttons and controls.
    * Premium build quality and sleek design.
    * Great controller for PC and handheld gaming.

    Cons:

    * The price is on the higher side compared to standard controllers.
    * The OLED display is a luxury feature rather than a necessity.
    * Some customization features may take time to get familiar with.

    Overall:
If you’re looking for a premium gaming controller that delivers comfort, excellent battery life, and some impressive features, this is an excellent choice. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone who takes their gaming seriously!

  15. ggs2ez (verified owner) –

Great features poor execution – Great controller bad quality. My first ones screen did not light up. My second ones back button gets stuck. Expected better quality from a brand like asus. Will be returning.

  16. ANGELICAN (verified owner) –

Huge ROG fan, but….. – I’m an ROG super fan. I have a full ROG Hyperion BTF build and 20 edition PC bundle with all 20 edition peripherals, along with ally x20 bundle. A strix gaming laptop, harpe mouse, cetra true wireless, ROG clothing and gear, and Raikiri pro II You get the point!!!! However, the Raikiri pro II pc lasted me one use and the faceplate magnets broke on me and the screen went dark and wouldn’t turn on. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed.

  17. Rajai (verified owner) –

Great Performance But Bad QC – The controller came with one wobbly back button but it was’t bad enough to make me want to refund it. Another one of the back buttons started to not register sometimes. I had the best buy warranty but the controller is almost never in stock so I ended up refunding it instead. Despite the QC issues if they had another one at best buy I would have just swapped out the controller instead or refunding. Definitely one of the better performing controllers I’ve used but build quality is not the best.

  18. HavocD (verified owner) –

Love this – Great product and top notch features… you should def grab yourself someone worth it like this .

  19. Andy (verified owner) –

Stick drift and phantom inputs – Less than a month of ownership, I’ve developed stick drift, and phantom inputs. Right stick drifts horribly even while trying to adjust and calibrate via Gear links. I’ve updated firmware and made sure to set deadzone to 5%. Still have horrible stick drift. Also recently I’ve been getting phantom inputs where my home button keeps opening game bar and window task view. It definitely needs more time to brew! Love the concept, but it’s not ready yet!

  20. DOMINICL (verified owner) –

Love hate controller – The controller has been awesome for me to play with. Feels good and is responsive. However, the faceplate and faceplate magnets soured this up right away. I only got to use it for about 20 minutes however, so not a true test of it.

TL:DR: faceplate magnets fell out, wonbly faceplate. Warranty doesnt cover, but i was asked to send in by best buy and Asus support team.
My magnets did not stay on the faceplate, of the 5 magnets, 4 just left the faceplate, making it extremely loose and unconfprtavle for a $200+ controller. Contacted bestbuy and was told to use the warranty through Asus, whoch i did. And after sending the controller back via RMA i was tild the magnet and magnet damage (a small chip in one of the faceplate magnet holders; recieved that way) wasnt covered, and i could get it replaced for the low price of $190. I asked them to just fix the magnets with no damage and they offered a 10% discount. So now im waiting for my unfixed controller to come back.

I have a lot of Asus ROzg products, and have used the warranty before, this was easily the worst experience for both product and service for me.
