Not a Solid Choice – Had it for just over a year. Seemed to work ok for awhile, but now it doesnt recognize cds and the audio clips when trying to rip cds to mp3.

Ancient connection technology – I needed the DVD burner to go with the new all in one. I got in my office to replace an older deal that had a built-in DVD burner.
I wish someplace on this site. It would’ve shown that this thing is actually using an ancient mini B connector that was released in 2000. Why on earth would anybody put out a CD ROM drive/DVD burner with a port that’s 26 years old now?
I tried burning something I burned a week ago on the previous system. On the previous system, it only took me about five minutes or so to burn the ISO of a window server image I had. This one took more than 30 minutes.
Returning it and purchasing one from an online retailer that actually has a USB-C interface and can do USB three speeds. This thing is useless.

This RW Drive Works As Intended – This drive was well-priced, and I needed one to start digitizing my CD collection. It came with a USB-A cable to connect to a PC, and a companion disc that includes optional software. Setup was simple, as my desktop recognized it immediately upon connection and I was ripping CDs shortly after. Noise is present when the drive is being used to read/write, but it isn’t excessively loud. No real complaints about this product.
