Beware of limitations from the best cable – Connecting an Apple device with the cable will be awesome. No matter the Apple device you connect, this will deliver top performance.
The build quality is superior compared to other manufacturers, and I guess Apple is the only one who provides braided cable and to this length with full Thunderbolt speed at 40Gbps. Other manufacturer doesn’t have the cable this long with active thunderbolt connection rather would do a passive.
The downside of this cable is that, it comes with various limitations with Non Apple devices. If you connect to a display from other manufacturer, this would not connect without issue, You’ll find several of those issues, device not recognized, won’t recognize other devices connected to the display, won’t charge the laptop from the display connected, etc.
Would not recommend to connect to windows machine or non apple display. I had to return the cable because of some of the mentioned incompatibility issues.
Despite all that, it’s great cable to connect thunderbolt devices and peripherals.

Open boxes are not always checked properly. – First item sent was not 1.8 meters long even though the return guys says that was the right length. Ok, so returned without issue and got another one. Maybe the first was a mistake. 2nd cord same size. Return person says maybe website was wrong. Gave up returned second cord and bought it at Apple Store instead.

Expensive but works flawlessly. – This cable is just what you need to connect your Mac to the Mac studio displays. Nothing else consistently worked for me, including three other cables that I ordered online and one that I bought at the local Best Buy. Great Cable – but too expensive – Excellent Quality cable but the price is a bit ridiculous. I have two Apple Studio Displays with ergotron arms so i needed long cables. I don’t know why Apple
doesn’t give longer cables since an Apple
