★★★★★ My favorite purchase! I LOVE this Kindle! – I absolutely LOVE my 2024 Kindle Basic in Matcha. I honestly didn’t expect to become this attached to it, but it has completely changed how often I read.
The size is probably my favorite thing about it. It’s small, lightweight and actually fits in my pocket, which means I can bring it literally everywhere. I love being able to pull it out whenever I have a few minutes instead of carrying a full-size book around and risking damaging a book. Even though it’s compact, the screen has never felt too small to me. For me, the size is perfect!!
I also haven’t had any issues with the lighting. The screen is comfortable to read on for long periods of time, whether I’m reading during the day, curled up in bed at night or somewhere with less-than-perfect lighting. It gives me the feeling of reading an actual book without the eye strain I normally get from reading on my phone.
And can we talk about the MATCHA color?! It’s so cute. It has this soft, calming green color that makes it feel a little more special than a typical electronic device. I genuinely enjoy picking it up.
What I love most is how easy it makes reading. There’s no bulky book, no notifications distracting me and no deciding whether I have enough room in my bag. I just grab my Kindle and go. I’ve found myself reading in little pockets of time that I probably would have spent scrolling on my phone before.
If you’re debating between the Kindle Basic and a larger model, don’t underestimate this one because it’s the “Basic.” The portability is exactly what makes it so good. It does what I need it to do beautifully without feeling oversized or complicated.
This is easily one of those purchases where I can genuinely say I would buy it again. My little Matcha Kindle goes EVERYWHERE with me.

I have heard so mook about Kindle over the years I decided to get one. It was too small and I was having problems connecting it to my computer.

Light and convenient! – This is undoubtedly my favorite Kindle I’ve ever owned. When I bought it was definitely worth it especially at the original price point. The increase in price does make me question if it’s worth it. It was originally priced at 109 and now cost 149 unless you can get it on sale. Since the new Kindle has come out, I’m not sure if it’s worth purchasing this one over the newer model. I’m sure this one will pop up on sale much more now. One of my favorite features of this Kindle is that it doesn’t show fingerprints often and it truly feels like you’re reading on a paper screen. In comparison to the colorsoft I could easily see every fingerprint. I also found it difficult to get the screen to match the comfort level of this Kindle. I know the ability to change the warmth is something people really want to see from this one but it doesn’t change things for me personally. While it may not be the most advanced or stylish with the newer color options it’s efficient, convenient, easy to travel with, and the battery lasts a decent amount of time.
