A Letter to Apple From a Apple User – Dear Apple,
I bought this model and size because Best Buy sold out of the original size and model I planned on purchasing, which was $600 less and smaller. Even though it is larger than I expected it to be, I am very happy with my purchase! Being that this is my very first Mac, there were some initial challenges with how to use it, as I’ve been a Windows user for decades. Once I spent some time with it, I was able to find out much about it. The Mac itself is very cool and I can’t wait to get fully into doing what I plan to use it for. It was also a bit heavier than I expected and it came in super protected packaging. Felt like I was carrying a 30 pound packed suitcase. I would say that it would be nice if the Mac OS would have the login larger than it appears. Maybe there is a setting to do it in Accessibility without blowing everything else up on my desktop after logging in? I attempted to use a passcode rather than password, as with my mobile Apple devices and my iWatch Ultra 2, but it seems like that isn’t something offered for now. I can unlock it, sometimes as well as approve some actions using my iWatch rather than typing in the password everytime I am trying to do something that requires elevation (consent). Also, the fact that I cannot install my favorite old Microsoft games on it is a bummer. I have a free Windows VM that I downloaded to use for that, however, it doesn’t seem to run the games. I will figure it out. The pictures that I want to use as a background from my photo library are upside down or facing the wrong way and there seems to be no way to flip them so that they display correctly. A software update can cure that, unless there is a setting I use to correct that. Lastly, it would be grand if the Mac was sold in other colors like the Macbook, iPads, iPhones, iPods. I would’ve love being able to get it in black. I’m guessing that it will be a sales ploy for future sales. Very smart! That is my 2 hour evaluation feedback of it. Would’ve gave 5 stars, but figure Apple can do a few things to improve the product.

An amazing computer. – I’m a software engineer who purchases the m4 studio due to my M2 MBP starting to hit limitations for me. I’m happy to say that this computer far exceeds anything I can throw at it. The only time I’ve ever had it struggle is when I was playing with some local LLMs. Otherwise it works non stop and never breaks a sweat. I’ve honestly gotten pretty lazy now and rarely quit applications because there just isn’t really a need until I get tired of everything looking cluttered.

Perfect Mac for video editing and AI models – I had a Mac mini but needed more power. The Mac Studio is the perfect solution. I edit my son’s track and football videos. I am creating and running local models daily for my job. Found open box and the Mac Studio is almost impossible to find.

Amazingly fast Mac Studio (not enough for most AI) – Great apple product as always but for those of you who want to run local ai that can actually handle a lot of tasks. this RAM config is a little too Low. I find that running the local 20-30gb models is the minimum for most tasks other than low quality models and this Mac can NOT handle it. If your use case is anything other than AI this is a seriously capable machine, highly worth it.
