USB A, are you serious????? – Imagine my shock when opened the box and discovered a USB B to USB A cable as the only way to connect a new drive. I guess I buy an adapter? Packed this whole thing back up and returned it immediately. If long term compatibility and fast transfers are not important to you this is a great product.

Loads fast – I purchased the Seagate Expansion Desktop 8TB HDD and have been very satisfied with its performance. Setup was quick and easy—just plug it in and it’s ready to use. The 8TB capacity provides more than enough space for backing up photos, videos, documents, and other large files.
The drive runs reliably and transfers files at good speeds through USB 3.0. I also appreciate the compact design, which fits neatly on my desk without taking up much space. Overall, it’s an excellent value for anyone needing a large amount of storage at an affordable price.
I would definitely recommend this hard drive to anyone looking for dependable backup and storage solutions.

Nice hard drive – Bought this before numerous times – nice hard drive, would love to see the price go down… all these AI companies driving the cost way too much… gave it a 4 coz of the price, if price was like before these AI companies gobbling up all the memory and hard drives, I would give it all 5 stars

Storage capacity you need for the money – I’ve been thrilled with the Seagate Expansion 8TB desktop drive. It delivers exactly what I wanted: huge, reliable storage without any setup headaches. Plug it into a Windows PC or Mac and it’s instantly recognized—no software to install. I was moving photos and 4K videos within minutes thanks to the fast USB 3.0 connection, and the simple drag‑and‑drop workflow makes backups effortless.
If you need dependable, high-capacity desktop storage that’s easy to set up and use, the Seagate Expansion 8TB is an excellent value and a zero‑stress choice.

Easy Set-Up – I needed to offload data from my working drive to make space for new projects. This was available locally. I picked it up, connected it to my Macbook Pro and was able to immediately begin the long process of moving data onto a spinning drive.
I would prefer the fast access of an SSD, but this HDD is much less expensive and works fine for archive purposes. I like that this one is self contained and sits upright on my desk. The form factor, capacity, and price work out to make it an affordable option I’m happy to use.
